Book release party!
Mar. 21st, 2005
Well, here we are back in Seattle after spending Saturday night down in Portland for the release of Carlton Mellick III's latest book, The Menstruating Mall and Jeremy Robert Johnson's Eraserhead novel, Angel Dust Apocalypse. Jeremy and his girlfriend Jessica hosted the party and I think it's fair to say a good time was had by all. A ton of cool people showed up and we made some great connections and had a great time. There was book buying, beer drinking and sitcom-theme-song singing and if there is a better way to spend a Saturday night, I sure as hell don't know what it is!
The Afterbirth Bunch
Mar. 17th, 2005
Time for another update! Woohaaaa!
First off, let me thank everyone who has submitted something to us in the last couple of months. I think it's fair to say we are being swamped with manuscripts and that rocks harder than a horns-to-the-sky metalhead. There is definitely no shortage of twisted writers out there and that is good news for everyone! Keep 'em coming!
However, I also must mention that we need more NOVELS! Feel free to continue submitting your short story collections but also know that we are getting pretty full-up on them--we already have enough for the rest of the year!--so you may have a better chance of acceptance by submitting a novel-length work, at least for the time being.
And where are the women writers??? Get your pen on, girls--don't let the boys have ALL the fun!!
And, lastly, here is a name we love to say around here: John Edward Lawson!!! We're thrilled to announce that we'll be releasing a book by John called Pocket Full of Loose Razorblades. He is a perfect, fun addition to the Afterbirth bunch and you'll be able to see the cover art and read the synopsis of this mind-bending collection soon. Keep an eye out!
So, I think that's all for now. Happy Saint Pats Day, guys. May it be green and gooey! |
