Hunter S. Thompson
Feb. 21st, 2005
Yeah, so Hunter killed himself today and I can't stop thinking about it. Fear and Loathing has been one of my favorite books for a long time. I still remember reading it for the first time one summer out on a leafy green deck when I was a teenager. It blew me away then and I suspect it always will.
This is such a huge, huge loss. I can only hope that he's at peace now and that his demons are finally silenced.
I lit a candle for him when I first heard and its still burning now. What a sad day...
Here we go....
Feb. 7th, 2005
Hey kids!
Here we are, in the land of the living at last. Not sure how we feel about it yet. It seems noisy and too bright but I'm sure we'll adjust.
As you certainly have noticed, we have a snazzy new site, courtesy of the amazingly talented and twisted Alyssa Sturgill. (Buy her book Spider Pie, from Raw Dog Screaming Press, unless you wish a pox upon your house!)We may even update the thing once in a while...
Pretty soon, Carlton Mellick III's book The Menstruating Mall will be available to order. We're very excited and hope everyone checks it out asap. It's cooler than mohawked zombies doing a line dance!
So be prepared for the big afterbirth bomb, soon to be crashing into a head near you.
Watch the skies.... |
